One of the fastest rising stars in women’s MMA, Jessica “Evil” Eye is a pioneer for the women’s side of things in Ohio. She competed in the first women’s bout for NAAFS, headlined the first all-female card in the state (Eve of Destruction), and became the first female fighter to headline a pro/am card in the state.
Eye burst onto the MMA scene in 2008 after starring as a standout soccer player in high school. After wandering into Strong Style MMA in Independence, Ohio, Eye began to take the then-untapped world of mixed martial arts into consideration as a career. After becoming a mainstay on one of the Midwest’s premiere MMA teams, Eye quickly helped to advance the world of women’s MMA with her fast-paced fight style and charisma on the microphone.
Jessica’s warrior spirit has been evident in each and every fight, but most recently she showed that she has a never say die attitude when she fought Angela Magana with a partially broken foot in the main event at NAAFS: Rock N Rumble 6 in August 2011. Eye still completely dominated the bout, using her pinpoint boxing skills to keep the veteran grappler at bay. After the bout, Eye once again received the praise of Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney.
The level of competition that Eye has faced has also been staggering, as her opponents had a combined 34-13 record at the time of facing her (through nine pro bouts). She has also never faced an opponent with a losing record, and the current Ring of Combat champion has still tasted defeat just once in her career.
