The professional lineup for next month’s NAAFS: Caged Vengeance card is starting to come together, as three bouts are now public for the event.
Top-ranked Ohio bantamweight Isaiah Chapman (4-0) is set to fight for the first-ever NAAFS professional 135-pound title, as he’ll take on Bellator MMA veteran Bryan Goldsby (17-13) in one of the night’s featured contests. NAAFS matchmaker Nichole Castillo made the announcement via Twitter.
Castillo also announced a matchup pitting lightweights George Comer (1-1) vs. Stephen Singleton (1-0). These two bouts join a rumored matchup featuring featherweight champion Frank Caraballo vs. Chris Bennett in a non-title catchweight fight as part of the pro portion of the card.
Chapman looks to capture professional gold after winning the NAAFS amateur bantamweight title in both 2010 and 2011 before turning pro in 2012. He quickly racked up a 4-0 record as a pro last year and was named the Ohio MMA Fighter of the Year and also was part of the Ohio Fight of the Year against Dustin Kempf at NAAFS: Night of Champions in December.
Goldsby is a veteran who has more than seven times as many professional fights as Chapman and has competed in Bellator. Originally from Georgia, he now lives and trains near Cincinnati where he is a member of Team Jorge Gurgel. After a rough 2-6 stint from 2010-2011, Goldsby posted a 3-0 record in 2012, including a decision win over Steve Smith at NAAFS: Caged Fury 18 in August. This will be his first time in the cage since that win.
A two-time NAAFS champion similar to Chapman, Comer looks to move his professional record above .500 with a second straight win. With a 10-1 record overall, he most recently earned a rear naked choke over Khama Worthy at NAAFS: Fight Nite in the Flats 8 last June. Ranked as the No. 1 lightweight in Ohio before turning pro, Singleton submitted Reggie Merriweather in his pro debut in December and is 9-1 overall.
Caged Vengeance 13 takes place on March 30 in Canton, Ohio.
