Fight card for Saturday’s EAC 5 in Fredericktown

eac-5EAC 5 is set to go down on Saturday in Fredericktown, and the event currently features 13 scheduled bouts including three in the professional ranks.

The main event features a battle for the professional welterweight title, as Rocky Edwards (4-2-1) is set to face Taylor Ruscin (4-1) for the 170-pound gold. Edwards, a Bellator veteran, comes into the bout off of a draw against Julian Lane in his last outing. Prior to that, he had won three of four including all three wins via stoppage. Ruscin, a member of the Jorge Gurgel Academy, is currently riding a four-fight winning streak with all four wins coming via submission. He fights for the first time since August 2012, when he submitted Darryl Madison with a rear naked choke in the first round.

In the co-main event, Alfred Leisure (1-0) will face Raymond Yanez (2-2) in a 130-pound catchweight bout. Leisure has never been defeated inside the cage, including a 6-0 amateur record. He made his professional debut earlier this year with a TKO victory over Mark Wilson in less than a minute. Yanez looks for a second straight win, as he is coming off of a unanimous decision over D’Angelo Bynum in August.

The third professional bout is a rematch, as lightweight Anthony Morgan (2-0) will look to stay unbeaten with a second victory over Cameron Ross (1-1). Morgan is on a seven-fight winning streak dating back to his amateur career, including submission wins over Ross and Stephen Singleton as a professional. Ross picked up his first win as a pro in October, when he submitted Rhett Northcraft with an arm bar in the first round.

Multiple standouts will also compete on the amateur portion of the card, including unbeaten welterweight Luke Ransbottom (3-0), No. 9 ranked bantamweight Sean Highfill (3-0), and No. 2 ranked welterweight Chico Bays (6-3). A top ten light heavyweight battle also takes place, as No. 5 Lance Phillips (3-0) takes on No. 10 Anthony Santiago (2-0).
